E-learning on new and improved working practices

Need

Our client is an organisation in the transport industry who has produced new working practices in order to remedy serious shortcomings in measures and information for passengers in the event of a disruption of traffic.

Solution

We produced a course, which, in addition to describing the new working practices, includes animated scenarios with imaginary but realistic situations in which disruptions have a major effect on fictitious passengers. We highlight the problems and consequences from the perspective of several passengers in order to increase understanding among the course’s target group about the consequences of different ways of responding, so that participants can better understand their role in the process and the importance of acting accordingly.

E-learning on operations and systems

Need

Our client is a large organisation with operations spanning the entire country. A need was identified to train personnel in a certain professional role – in a uniform manner – on how these operations work and how to use the system support in different situations. Personnel in this role had previously been trained at a regional level, which resulted in variations in knowledge levels.

Solution

The training is rich in content with screen recordings from the system in which a voiceover explains and instructs how to use system support at different stages. Each section ends with interactive exercises to ensure that the course participants have absorbed the material.

E-learning on labour law for employers

Need

Our client is an employers’ organisation that runs a comprehensive legal telephone support service for its members for matters concerning labour law. In order to help the support service with routine matters, an e-learning program on basic labour law for employers or employer representatives was produced, so that support service experts could devote their working day to more complicated cases.

Solution

In workshops together with the client’s experts, we developed an e-learning script with eleven different modules about basic labour law – employment with and without a collective agreement, co-determination in the workplace, types of leave, and terminating a work contract.

The training is designed to work as just-in-time support, which can be used in situations where employers need to refresh their knowledge.

The course was installed in CleverLMS.

Solution

In collaboration with experts from the association, we revised the existing material and drafted a new basis to work from. We analysed the educational need, defined the educational goals and adapted the course to better fit the target group. The end result was a web-based 90-minute instruction course, with a filmed actor who guides the user through facts, exercises and film sequences.

Blended Learning as Introduction for Project Managers

Need

Our customer wanted to be able to offer new project managers a role-specific introductory course. We were hired to carry out a prestudy to examine the best set-up. What would suit the client best: an e-learning course, a teacher-led course or a mix of both?

Solution

The prestudy gave at hand that so-called blended learning best matched the needs of the customer. Thus we produced a two-hour e-learning preparation course, covering all facts, but also delivered material and a teacher tutorial for a teacher-led day of training, focusing on reflection, discussion, exchange of experiences and networking.

E-learning on Client's Intranet

Need

Our client needs to be able to publish news on the intranet, and wants to ensure that all users have a notion of how intranet panes and functions are to be used.

Furthermore, the course contains screen recordings that show the users how to use the management system tools on the intranet.

Safety Course for Road Contractors

Need

Our client is in need of a repetition course for contractors working at the client´s complex road facilities. Every third year, everyone who is to work at the facilities has to rehearse basic rules of conduct and safety rules, in order to gain access to the areas. Since the contractors are geographically scattered, and may need to be able to take the course at different points in time, e-learning was chosen as educational form.

Solution

We developed an e-learning course which basically works as a repetition of the teacher-led course. It consists of several parts: one introductory module which is mandatory for all users, and several standalone modules – one for each road facility – which the user can choose to go through, depending on the access level needed. Every module comprises numerous interactive exercises, in order for the user to check his knowledge.

Work environment - manager and employees

Need

Our client requested a training program to highlight the company's work environment issues within the organization. They wanted this information removed from the intranet and placed in the e-learning course, in order to make it more accessible and easy to find. They wished for the program to have a basic part directed at all employees, and a more comprehensive part turning primarily to managers.

Solution

We developed an e-learning course pointing out occupational health and safety rights and obligations, both on a personal level and in collaboration with workplace colleagues. In the part directed at managers, we stressed the importance of responsibility allocation and staged a manager scenario. We alternated exercises with theory sections and films from company operations. The training was concluded with a knowledge test.

E-learning with accompanying mobile app

Need

Our client, a large governmental agency, needs to provide their employees with first aid training. The program must be available individually from home, at work, under the guidance of teachers – and also via mobile phone.

Solution

We developed both an e-learning course for use on computers and an app for mobile devices. The course contains a lot of videos, animations and interactive exercises. The mobile app is, in terms of navigation and presentation, suited for mobile learning. It can be used as a supplement, a form of just in time-support, as well as a data bank, a tool for revision and deepening of knowledge.

E-learning on workplace threats and violence

Need

Our client – Prevent – had, along with Visita, HRF and Unionen, acknowledged a need among employees in the hospitality industry: the ability to handle unsafe situations involving threats and violence in the workplace. They simply needed a more in-depth and specific version of their previous course, www.battrevardag.nu, which focused on work environment in general.

Solution

We developed an e-learning course highlighting workplace violence and threats. The purpose was to provide employees with the appropriate tools for not only handling unpleasant and threatening situations, but also averting them using increased self-awareness. The result: www.sakervardag.nu – a pictorial course filled with films, exercises and interviews. A knowledge test concludes the training. The course is distributed using CleverLMS.

Our client has hundreds of co-workers about to become editors of a new intranet based on Microsoft SharePoint. The prospective editors need to learn the structure of the intranet, what features there are and how to use them.

Solution

A web-based course of about 45 minutes introduces the new SharePoint-based intranet platform. The course includes animated overviews guiding the participants through the structure of the intranet, showing them where to place different types of information and illustrating the uses of the new features. The course also includes several instructional step-by-step videos explaining how to fill the intranet with content.

Solution

In a 30-minute e-learning course, we introduce the concept of BIM. The introduction is rhetorically constructed and starts with a historical overview: How has the industry evolved so far, and where are we headed? What is required of us now and in the future? Then the basics of BIM, from a technical perspective, are introduced. The course ends with the client's senior managers being interviewed about their thoughts on BIM and the future.

Here are some of the films from the course.

E-learning for subcontractors

Need

Our client is a public sector real estate company that subcontracts work to various tradesmen. Since the subcontractors sometimes have to enter tenants residences and business premises, it is very important that they act professionally and in accordance with the real estate company's code of conduct after all, they are there on behalf of the landlord and therefore represent the landlord when interacting with the tenant.

Solution

A 15-minute e-learning course highlights the importance of understanding the tenant's perspective. Through filmed interviews with tenants, we get to hear what they feel is important to bear in mind. Also, interviews with the real estate company's own service technicians tell us what is especially important in order to achieve good cooperation between them and the subcontractors.

Educating the owners using e-learning

Need

One of Sweden's largest forest industry companies needs to educate its owners about the benefits of its cooperative form of ownership and the economic benefits of investing in the company. Since the target group consists of thousands of people scattered all over the country, e-learning makes for a suitable form of education.

Solution

In an accessible and engaging way, our e-learning course explains how the company ownership model works. An animated 90-second film provides a comprehensive introduction and summary of the course contents. Next, the form of ownership, remunerations, payout models and more is explained step by step using animations and interactive exercises. The course is distributed using CleverLMS.

Safety training for emergency services

Need

Our client owns three large road tunnels in the Stockholm region and is therefore required to offer training to emergency services on the tunnel constructions, how the tunnels work and how to tackle fires or accidents in them. Since emergency service staff rarely have the time to attend instructor-led training, e-learning was the choice form of education.

Solution

In an e-learning course of about an hour, the three tunnels are introduced. The geographical locations and technical constructions are presented using 3D animations and films. Step by step, recommended strategies in case of fire or an accident in one of the tunnels are presented. The course is flexible and can be used for both self-studies and, for example, group briefings.

E-learning course on food hygiene for thousands of employees

Need

Our client has thousands of employees handling food throughout the country. Food regulations state that staff handling food must be trained in food hygiene – and that the course must be repeated on a regular basis.

Solution

A web-based course of about 45 minutes, meeting the requirements placed on food hygiene training, covers health hazards, kitchen routines and handling of food. Short films demonstrate how various operations are correctly carried out. The participant's skills are evaluated using a knowledge test at the end of the course. To be registered in CleverLMS as having passed the course, the participant must complete the test with no mistakes.

E-learning on the Cluster Munition Convention

Need

In preparation of Sweden's ratification of the Convention on Cluster Munitions, the Swedish Armed Forces was assigned the task of educating its entire staff about its consequences. Furthermore, all staff bound to practice with armed forces of other countries or take part in international operations – and who will therefore interact with countries that are not part of the coalition – need to know the rules for any given situation.

Solution

Using documentary films, factual texts, an interactive world map and a knowledge test, the introductory course presents the problems of cluster munitions as well as important parts of the treaty text. The advanced course presents just over ten specific and intricate questions about how the convention is applied out in the field, through interactive scenarios that can be used for self-study as well as for group discussions.

Property company strategy training

Need

A property company has a long-running strategic plan to remain the region's most profitable and attractive landlord. At this point in time, they needed help developing an interactive and flexible e-learning course on their strategy for the rest of the decade, for both property technicians and administrative staff.

Solution

The main theme of the course is a business-like approach in which the customer's perception of security, order and high standards is put first. Using filmed interviews with tenants, the focus is on the customer's perspective. Through reflective questions and specific interactive scenarios, the course participant is trained in applying the organization's core values.

E-learning for municipality employees

Need

A municipality needed a way to distribute knowledge to all its administration employees about the cooperative agreement and wage negotiation process. The purpose was to specify how and where employee involvement is channeled – from performance review and evaluation, via departmental meeting and local coordination group, to administrative board and central cooperation group.

Solution

Based on the cooperative agreement and the co-determination and work environment acts, CleverLearning developed the course script during a number of workshops where both employer and union representatives were present. We clarified the differences between formal and informal cooperation and explained what is discussed in which kind of meeting and dialogue.

Inspiring e-educators

Need

Learning Online in the Nordic Armed Forces is a project where the Nordic countries' military forces cooperate in encouraging their respective course developers and teachers to use the Internet to a higher extent when organizing collaborative learning as a viable alternative to classroom training. The project needed a way of reaching the target audiences via the Internet.

Solution

Working closely with the joint Nordic project group, CleverLearning developed seven short films about collaborative online learning. Three of the films serve as inspiration, demonstrating approaches and tools for organizing the training. The other four films document collaborative online learning in action at Swedish, Norwegian and Finnish units. The films are available on YouTube and Facebook.

Inspiring e-educators

Need

Our client, a municipality, needs to strengthen its internal brand among both new and existing employees. The project involves building a strong internal culture and creating an understanding of the values meant to permeate the organization, as well as increasing the understanding of the municipality's assignment, goal, vision and organization.

Solution

Working closely with our client, we created a clear description of the internal culture and how it affects each individual employee. From there, we developed an e-learning course of about 60 minutes giving new and existing employees a deeper and more concrete picture of the municipality's mission, organization and core values.

Developing the skills of thousands of officials

Need

Our client needs to develop the skills of thousands of officials' with regards to regulatory framework and work approach. In order to perform their duties successfully and correctly, the individual official needs to understand a complex context.

The second step is instructor-led training, and the third is an examination. The web-based courses consist of a mix of films, animations and interactive knowledge exercises.

Safety and work environment training by e-learning

Need

When a wild animal is hit by a car or a train, one of Sweden's approximately 7 000 tracking hunters is called in. Since roads and train tracks are dangerous work environments, our client – the Swedish Transport Administration – needed a training course informing the tracking hunters of the risks at hand and providing knowledge on what they can do to increase their own safety.

Solution

In cooperation with the Client's subject experts, we developed a course of about 60 minutes. It is available to the public on the Swedish Transport Administration's website. The course ends in a knowledge test, and anyone who passes it is awarded a certificate.

Solution

In cooperation with our Client's subject experts, we developed a course of about 60 minutes that is available to the public on the Swedish Transport Administration's website. The final step of the course is a knowledge test, and anyone who passes it is awarded a certificate.

Safety training using e-learning

Need

Our client wants to develop the safety awareness of their entire staff. Since many of the employees work in stores where shoplifting, threats and robberies occur, the company needs a safety course on how to act in those types of situations as well as how to deal with fire, information security, internal crime and administrative losses.

Solution

Working closely with the Client's security department, we created an engaging e-learning course containing interviews, testimonies, surveillance footage, exercises and a final exam. The contents of the course are adjusted to the employee's position, and the course is taken annually in order to keep the knowledge up to date.

Industry orientation program using e-learning

Need

Our client, a national trade association, needed a quality-assured and broad orientation program for all industry stakeholders – elected politicians, municipal officials, technical staff and contractors.

Solution

CleverLearning first did a pilot study to identify the knowledge needs of the target groups concerned. Based on the pilot study, we developed an e-learning course providing a broad picture of the industry and its players and activities.

Using e-learning to reach schoolchildren

Need

Our client wants to raise awareness among schoolchildren about the environmental effects of consumption and waste disposal. Another objective is increasing young people's understanding of the fact that their actions affect the environment and teaching them how to dispose of their waste.

Solution

Working closely with the client, we created an interactive website targeting both schoolchildren and their teachers. The site contains knowledge and attitude exercises as well as a teacher's guide, including lesson tips. Check it out at www.sopskolan.se.

E-learning for dog co-owners

Need

The Swedish Armed Forces breed German Shepherds in order to obtain capable service dogs. At eight weeks, the puppies are placed with co-owners all around Sweden. The purpose is for the dogs to spend their first year and a half in a safe and positive environment. The Swedish Armed Forces want the co-owners to go through a quality-assured training program to make sure the dogs' early lives are as good and similar as possible.

Solution

We developed a comprehensive e-learning course. It combines videos and factual texts demonstrating, informing and giving tips about the dog's needs, upbringing and health as well as what the Armed Forces expect from both dog and co-owner. The course was SCORM-compliant and installed in the Armed Forces' LMS.

Induction program for sales staff

Need

Our client, a major food industry supplier, needed to ensure their induction program for new sales staff was quality-assured. Many of the employees are seasonal staff, and our client wants to get them started quickly.

Solution

A 45 minute e-learning course gives new sales staff a general introduction to the products, the market and elements of day-to-day work out in the field. This way, everyone gets the same start and can be more efficient when going with a more experienced salesman on client visits, which is the next step.

The course was installed in CleverLMS.

Timesheet training for managers

Need

Changes in a collective agreement had consequences for our client, who has hundreds of managers all over Sweden. Timesheets that are incorrectly completed cause unnecessary costs for the organization.

Solution

We developed an interactive training course explaining the background of the changes as well as their consequences. The course also includes hands-on information about timesheets, both online and on paper. The participants' study results are reported to CleverLMS, which means the client can produce statistical reports.

Influencing attitudes

Need

The client, a governmental agency, wanted to influence parts of a target group who often had a conservative and unfoundedly negative attitude towards the use of new technology.

Solution

To generate interest and commitment in the partially critical target group, we took their critical attitude seriously but put the arguments in their proper contexts. That way, we managed to reach the target group through the use of creative and playful e-learning, without losing technical credibility.

"Outstanding!" was the client's verdict.

Financial concepts explained through web-based training

Need

In our client's organization, there are around thirty large economic associations run by elected members. Within these associations, different financial concepts are constantly being discussed. Since the elected members are laymen when it comes to finance, our client wanted to offer them basic training in order for them to gain enough knowledge to participate in the discussions.

Solution

Working with the associations' subject experts, we developed a basic course for our client in just a month. It consists of an animated feed introducing the concepts and putting them into context. To illustrate, members share how their investments are used, transformed and generating profit. The client can monitor the course usage in CleverLMS.

Streamlining using Lean

Need

Our client is dedicatedly working to streamline their business. As part of that effort, a concept by the name of "Lean" has popped up. But what does it really mean? And how do you get everybody on board?

Solution

We were given the task to learn about Lean, write a script and develop an interactive informative material about it. This resulted in an interactive film of about 30 minutes, to be used both individually and in groups as part of our client's efforts to improve their business. So what is Lean? Well, Lean is a way of thinking that helps systematically streamline and develop a business. It is a philosophy as well as a culture, an approach and a tool.

Blended Learning for elected members

Need

The client is Sweden's largest business owner organization and has some 8 000 elected members. Approximately 1 000 of them are newly elected each year. Previously, these new members have gone through instructor-led training, which has been very costly.

Solution

We developed an e-learning course that the elected member can take straight away. Our solution consists of a web-based documentary with interactive exercises mixed in. Since the member takes this course, thereby learning basic facts, the client has been able to reduce classroom time. The instructor-led time can instead be used for more complex discussions. The result is registered in CleverLMS, which has been integrated with the client's administrative system.

Professionalism and the Public Procurement Act

Need

The client is one of Sweden's largest procurement organizations, making procurement decisions worth billions of kronor each year. The client needed to establish an understanding of the importance of the Public Procurement Act in a quality-assured and professional way.

Solution

We developed an e-learning course on how to apply the PPA in a professional manner, targeting the client's purchasers and project managers. The course also identifies any needs there may be for further training in adjacent fields, and suggests suitable courses.

Web-based induction program for study circle leaders

Need

One of Sweden's largest study circle associations wanted to make sure their new induction program for study circle leaders was quality-assured, so that all new leaders receive the same information. They also wanted to strengthen their brand and the sense of fellowship.

Solution

The new study circle leader is guided through the program by fun animated characters designed to illustrate the wide age span, the different geographical positions and the numerous subjects of interest within the target group, thereby creating a sense of identification. The characters discuss the work approach of the study circle, leadership and learning. The course ends in a knowledge test ensuring that the governmental requirements for a mandatory introductory course have been met.

Training for municipality officials

Need

Our client is a governmental agency, responsible for managing one of Sweden's so called main databases. The agency needed a way of offering comprehensive training on database context and management, as well as an introduction to the governing documents of the database.

Solution

Working with users, client representatives and subject experts, we analyzed the field of knowledge. Identifying the educational needs from a sender as well as a receiver perspective, we defined the goals of the training course and developed it based on them.

Product and process training

Need

To reduce the number of support inquiries and to ensure that all resellers know their way around both the products and the sales and ordering process, our client needed to train thousands of their resellers.

Solution

Using animated process descriptions, interactive exercises and videotaped lectures, the participants are given efficient explanations and exercises regarding the products and the process. This saves our client and their resellers time as well as money.

Computer system training - intranet

Need

Our client is a corporate group with 2 500 employees. The group's intranet, which is based on a combination of EPiServer and SharePoint, serves as the main channel of communication. The client needed a training course explaining the functions and views of the intranet so that the employees always had a user guide available - and they needed it fast.

Solution

In just a month from order date to delivery, we developed a computer system course for our client. We had an actor introduce and explain the functions of the intranet on film, and we placed animated sequences of the most common work tasks in the system views for step-by-step demonstrations of how to perform them.

Corporate group orientation

Need

The client is a corporate group with seven subsidiary companies, all of which do very different things. To encourage collaboration and synergies, the client needs to provide all new employees with quality-assured information about the different businesses.

Solution

We developed an e-learning course of about an hour, informing the employee of the subsidiary companies, their shared history etcetera. At the end of each chapter, there are interactive exercises. The final step of the course is an exam, and the participants' results are reported to CleverLMS.

Influencing attitudes and increasing knowledge in an entire industry

Need

Our client wants to influence attitudes long-term and increase work environment knowledge - in an entire industry.

Solution

Working with the client's subject experts as well as representatives from the industry concerned, we developed an e-learning course of about 2 hours. To break down some of the resistance displayed by the target group towards the subject, we chose a humorous take and focused on making learning fun. The course consists of a mix of films, dialogues and scenarios. It is available to the public at bättrevardag.nu.

Educating EPiServer-editors through e-learning

Need

How do you teach your co-workers to use the publishing tool EPiServer in order to keep the company intranet active and up to date?

Solution

E-learning makes it possible to quickly and efficiently train a geographically dispersed target group. For this client, we developed a course of about 60 minutes, teaching the basics of EPiServer while at the same time motivating and inspiring the participants. Since the course can be used both as an introduction to the tool and a quick reference guide, help is always available.

E-learning induction program

New EU standards presented through e-learning
